It was "full-risk" and is an indispensable "historical document" in any case Pete York tells to his project, no one knew that it would take large "Super drumming". Today a broadcast format would be probably unthinkable. Would it want to establish York in these times, you would have tipped him quickly from the slot without thought or at best pushed on a late Arte slot for a handful of enthusiastic fans.

What has been made at the time from February 1987 to the legs, appears to be the face for an ignorant utopia of a Cup to have been. Far from the truth. "Super drumming" was a bridging of cultures and hard to beat of authenticity. The more valuable the music range which radiated ARD in the afternoon program with good odds, is now available in its entirety on a DVD box and includes additional back tag material.

The "maker", musician Pete York is idealist and professional drummer and to have any fun. He had not only, when he last in Helge Schneider's backing band swung the drum sticks, but also brought together the world's best drummers in all seriousness when he 1987.

A non-heated Church in Ulm was redesigned for the recordings. Pete York placed a high value on atmosphere and - at first glance - unthinkable combinations. A wonder how he managed together a jazz drummer with a world music percussionist or one from the pop genre at the same time in a set (combined with jazzy funky as rock-accompanying sound).
So is "Super drumming" still a dusty television format of ageing nostalgic, but a contemporary document priceless unparalleled.

The Big Four: Live From Sofia Bulgaria

Clearly the four gro?en bands on the market

22. June 2010 the big four (Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and anthrax) stood on a stage in Sofia (Bulgaria) and the show was broadcast live worldwide as exclusive HD Cinema event in over 550 Lichtspielhäuser. Appears this legendary concert at universal / Vertigo on DVD. The double DVD "The Big Four Live From Sofia" are complete performances of all four bands and behind the scenes material and interviews.

The big four broke out in the 1980s from the Thrashszene and the Metalworld, ruled from the date sold millions of records and filled arenas around the globe. Despite huge demand, this music Giants had never been on the same stage. 22. June 2010 made the Sonisphere Festival in Sofia station and the concert was broadcast on the same day in 79 cinemas in the UK, about 450 cinemas in 140 markets in the USA and several cinemas in Europe, Canada, Latin America, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.

In December 2009, the bands announced that they jointly would go Festival for all seven shows as Sonisphere in Europe on tour. The exclusive broadcast of the show in Sofia were fans around the world enjoy a concert which was seen only in very few dates. The big four make clear with this DVD that they are clearly the four great bands on the market.

News: Exclusive: the Xcerts reveal new EP

It seems that simply cannot have too much of a good thing worldwide The Xcerts these days. This 'scatterbrain' launch and the announcement that band prepared to launch its assault on the UK as part of our Rock Tour of exhibition of sound, last year the trio to Rock sound you've been quietly working away EP again.

The band are set to release their EP entitled ' stairs To Noise: The Scatterbrain EP' on March 07, the track listing for that is below:

What is behind the title?
"In the EP have three songs from the session we did in New York in Mike sapone of the new brand, crime in stereo) study." Has he noticed a growing interest in the band since the launch of 'scatterbrain'?
"Yes, definitely." I don't know if we really think at first. I really didn't have a huge demand for it, but a while back recorded some cover songs and they posted online. And many people wondered if it would cover elliott Smith, so we did. Once it was announced seems to be a huge response of people. I think that there is now much more new people in our band. There are also two unheard tracks that could slide him also. We are kind 'scatterbrain' and "Tear Me Down" as a double-sided treatment when we make it to the radio. "Going " Tear Me Down " was really close on the album but its quite slow, so only was lost because we thought it might reduce the tempo of the record."

Was it hard to get the combination of fast and slow?
"I do believe that we have released a slow song over there would have been simply too much." We truly are and all we hear it all the way through to "Tear Me Down" in and felt that a song was too long. Never wishing a registry. I always have really annoying when there are too many tracks in a row. I think you could always cut that, so I think it is a good way to release stand out itself. "I can not wait for people who listen to it".

Does the work of art designed yet?
"Yes, maintains a type of item, with what we did for the registration and using another Jordan photographs." It took a very nice picture of a place, I think it is somewhat literal because it is a set of stairs. But we are big fans of Death Cab for Cutie and had a record called ' narrow stairs ' and what it was, it was the Open Door EP' or something? I had a door in it. "For what we thought, well if they can be literals can be literals."

Does the EP will be released in the first week of March, when in Rock sound Exhibition Tour, you will have a release of EP when you return?
"So I do not believe." I think we almost will treat it as they were promoting a unique or something and maybe do not have an EP release. Perhaps we should I suppose we could perhaps have one on the tour. "It's like holding a false Christmas yet".

Yes, sorry Pile Up dinosaur and Japanese Voyeurs have changed the rotation. We are heading, in fact, you just take the day off!
"Yeah exactly, its our night!" I suppose if it was all new songs we do but because there are only a couple of songs is not as big a deal. There again, we could really do much of it and people go, ' oh is a great thing!' "I am chuffed with it though, especially one track that has string arrangements."

Classification: 8What Esben and The Witch from Brighton have achieved is so strange as it is something to celebrate. 09's EP ' 33' from the band have become a popular name despite his dark sound check. Violet screaming away from a dream without ominous, rest as post-rock Pierce hidden beneath a guitar fuzz, dish surface retouching and mysterious synthscapes. The heart of darkness is the prose of wet dream of English literature at the vocal chants of rachel Davies, which remains the centrifugal force. It is a charming bulb album that, despite his progressive influence and celestial melodies, consider the label 'nightmare-pop'. Revel in the half-light.

Classification: 7You can not fault boom, deathcore pummelling Ocean capacity. Ocean of palette choice of years and wheezing, the band were forced to rely on building blocks tired of the last days of death metal in the vulnerable moments where break rank, as in 'Quarantine'. Ocean thrive out of the box, unfortunately 'Contagion' frequently covered decision-making.

News: Panic on the surface of runway nightclub online

A 30 second clip of the single of Panic At The Disco' The Ballad of the Mona Lisa' new appeared online today and can be heard here. Also seems the song will be available for download on iTunes on 01 February.

panic At the Disco currently formed by Brendon urie and spencer Smith hit the coast of UK in February 08 when they play one off concert at The Bush Hall, London.

The band's third album ' vices and virtues ' is due to the fall in March and will be their first release without vocalist ryan Ross and bassist Jon walker.

News: Jobs Frank Turner album update

Frank turner has recently updated his blog with news about their upcoming fourth album that is currently being recorded with Tristan Ivemy (The holloways, Tubelord).

In the end; three almost finished songs, is out in the summer, Frank has a title in mind and former keyboardist remains constant Franz nicolay plays the accordion into something.

"Week two at the dawn of studio with much to be pleased with." We move much more quickly in the first week we were expecting the end finish all drums, bass, piano, electric guitars, as well as nailing things atheist gospel choir. This morning my friend Franz Nikolay came to play accordion, and we have started the voice now, which is always the most nerve-wracking part of the process for me, personally. But we almost 3 songs down already, so we are making good time.

The album is also scheduled to launch early summer. I can not be more specific, the people who organize these things are, well, organize them. I have a title in mind, but it is currently being extracted by legal persons to ensure it is well for me to use. We are working in 15 songs; I doubt they will make the appropriate album (although tempting). Everything sounds strong right now.

Other matters. My friend Tony organizes fundraising for a charitable organization supporting bowel intestine cancer. I donated a guitar signed at the end of last year, which draws the profits going to this noble cause. You can purchase tickets here.

Finally, after my version of a song by old friends Reuben Christmas, Jamie, the singer has responded in spectacular style with the publication of a fantastic cover of one of my songs. "Enjoy".

News: Children in glass houses start to work on the third album

Less than a year after released the album 'Earth', children in glass houses are working in their as-yet untitled third album.

The band are in pre-production in Cardiff with producer jason perry and will begin recording in March for free registration - known as '# 3' - in summer, once again the Roadrunner.

News: Slam Dunk 2011 announcement coming soon

slam dunk Festival website has been updated with a message simply read ' first announced coming soon '. Pretty sure that no explanation is needed!

The 2010 event was the largest and most successful to date with amazing performances by new found glory, against me!, alkaline trio, define their goals, four year Strong, young guns, his disappearance, Futures and many, many more.

However, most people remember Slam Dunk 2010 for problems and chaotic scenes in the South at the University of Hatfield event when people were blocked at the festival and has been able to be certain stages in time to see their favorite bands.

Due to the promoter of the event Ben ray he issued a statement called "another opportunity to demonstrate that this event can work" and promised to spend "over the next 12 months of planning ensure that you nothing like this can be repeated". Will the proven success of Slam Dunk North and the bands quality training suffice to winning gamblers back round? News: Travis Barker to release debut solo in March

Blink-182 drummer travis barker He has confirmed that his album titled solo "give the drummer Some' is set for release on March 15, through interscope records.

With appearances with Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Kid Cudi, Slipknot's Corey Taylor, Tom Morello, Rick Ross and The clipse, this is set to a star-studded debut.

As yet, the songs ' jump Down' and ' carry ' have been unleashed in iTunes and you can see the video of ' carry ' by clicking below:

The album will have 12 tracks and version deluxe 16. «So far, confirmed the tracks include ' Got A Hold Me, ' devil's with hip hop supergroup slaughterhouse, 'misfits,' with Steve Aoki, head cold that Kid Cudi, "don't Fuck with me,' with paul wall, kurupt and J Roc, city of dreams, with The clipse and Kobe and ' On My Own' with Slipknot's Corey Taylor.

The album artwork also has been created by legendary designer Pushead, along with images of some of Travis' fashion, tattoo, favorite Graffiti and street artists.

This is not the first time that Travis has dabbled with hip hop having appeared in draft side the transplants.

Sting – All This Time is a Remarkable live in concert DVD!

The wonderful Sting decided to go on a project of reinventing and rearranging some of his most celebrated songs, make a Live performance of it, in the back yard of his house in Italy, and put it on record as an intimate concert for family and friends.

Sting invited a bunch of fellow friends musicians, magnificent artists like himself, to collaborate with him on this adventure with less than two weeks to prepare. But what started as a sweet little idea, for a private sharing, became unexpectedly a much bigger responsibility that puts this show on a scale of a historical event.

The concert was set up for September 11, 2001 . . . !!!

Little did Sting and his friends know, what is about to take place on this very date, on this our little planet!

An event that shook and challenged the foundations of our social structure to it’s core.

‘All This Time’ concert DVD, includes a documentary film following the whole process. From preparations and development of the project, all the way through capturing the shocked faces of Sting and his friends as they are sitting in front of TV, witnessing what occurred in Manhattan New york, only a few hours before the show. This pushed them to face a very tough decision: whether to cancel the concert or go on with it…

Although the moment presented a great challenge to these beautiful brothers and sisters, it simultaneously provided a one of a kind opportunity not to be missed. And I am personally very happy and grateful for their decision to follow through and do the concert. That by itself is a powerful statement, to make in a day like that, which I find largely important and inspiring.

Sting and his friends altered the ‘All This Time’ show according to what they felt would be appropriate to communicate to the world, in this extremely emotionally delicate moment in the history of humanity on earth.

The timing of this concert makes it profoundly symbolic on so many levels…

One of the songs that was cut out of the show, was the middle eastern tune that became a great hit where the Arab singer Cheb Mami, sings in Arabic, inter-weaved beautifully with Sting singing in English. It is a wonderful song! They even brought a beautiful belly dancer lady to dance on stage which makes it a delightful performance that you can watch on the documentary in the dress rehearsal (and in the video on the top of this page), but Not in the concert itself.

It makes me wonder… what if they were to keep that performance on the show in such timing? Talking about opportunities… That could probably be marked as one of the most powerful statements in the history of music on earth! An antidote reflection of what occurred that same day, on the same planet between the same tribes, demonstrating that in spite of our apparent differences, it is possible for us to share in peace and joy Westerns and Easterns alike, fusing our cultures into a transcendental expression that celebrates the one life that we all share as equal spirits.

I would have loved seeing that happening, however, I also understand that at this point in time, not everyone on this planet would have seen it in the same light. In time, patience is an important attribute, and so in consideration, I would simply say it is all in Divine Order…

Still the concert makes it’s declaration loud and clear. These great musicians are bringing with them to the stage a deep sense of humbleness, honor and respect, that echos throughout the whole concert, making an atmosphere of surrender. They play magnificently together.

The reinterpretations of the songs, are absolutely gorgeous and refreshing. This concert has a quiet, yet forceful momentum. An intensity building up to pick moments of joy springing from inner strength that is unbreakable.

Sting’s ‘All This Time’ Concert DVD is an extremely important reflection of our true nature, showing the great value of music, as a powerful form of communication and when rightfully used can become a profound tool and aid to our healing and transformation.

Gestern Abend spielte Caribou im Frankfurter Mousonturm. Der kanadische Mathematiker und vor allem Musiker trat mit Band vor ausverkauften Haus auf, nachdem zuvor Barbara Panther eingeheizt hatte. Mount Kimbie haben ihre Tour leider abgebrochen und waren deshalb nicht am Start.

Das Fehlen von Mount Kimbie als "zweitem Headliner" war natürlich eine erste Enttäuschung, ein Zettel am Einlass wies lapidar darauf hin. Im Netz hatte ich zuvor nur Gerüchte gelesen, ein kurzer Hinweis auf Twitter oder Facebook wäre doch aber kein Problem gewesen, oder? Da man aber das beste aus solchen Situationen machen sollte, haben wir uns erstmal in den Mousonturm reingezwängt und kurz Barbara Panther angesehen, wie sie da so allein mit ihrem Laptop auf der Bühne stand und sang. Ihre von Matthew Herbert produzierte Empire EP finde ich gar nicht mal schlecht, aber live fehlte mir der Zugang zu ihrer Musik. Vielleicht auch, weil sie auf der großen Bühne doch recht verloren wirkte.

Ziemlich zügig ging es dann aber weiter mit Caribou. Daniel V. Snaith hatte Ryan Smith, Brad Weber und John Schmersal Mitmusiker dabei. Insbesondere Drummer Weber erwies sich von Beginn an als kongenialer Sparringspartner für Snaith und sorgte durchgängig für druckvolle Grooves. Caribou spielten so ziemlich alle Hits der Alben Andorra und Swim, interpretierten manche Passagen elektronisch experimentell, andere extrem noisegitarrenlastig, wobei ich gerade die zwei, drei Stücke in der Mitte des Konzerts, als Snaith seine Gibson SG umschnallte, am schwächsten fand.

Der Sound war nämlich die meiste Zeit ziemlich gut, das sphärische der Musik und des Gesangs verband sich wunderbar mit dem Beat, so wie man es von den Platten kennt. Aber mit zwei Gitarren wurde der Sound irgendwie dumpfer, und plötzlich nervte auch das ständige, Mousonturm-typische Gequassel des Publikums ganz schön. Glücklicherweise bekamen Caribou aber wieder die Kurve und feuerten mit Sun eine grandiose Zugabe in den Saal. Das qualitativ äußerst bescheidene Foto oben habe ich ganz am Anfang mit der Handykamera geknipst. Rechts ist Herr Snaith zu sehen, wie er Merchandise an den Mann bringt.

Die Heimfahrt wurde mir übrigens von Robert Lug versüßt, der in seiner Sendung Voyager auf hr2 den Abend mit Ambient/Chillout-Sounds des Hamburger Kollektiv Turmstrasse (neues Album: Rebellion der Träumer) ausklingen ließ. Das passte aber sowas von.
