Rating: Dive 8Dive the third album was recorded during short time of inactivity to three-quarters of the group that otherwise through their trade tour relentlessly Frank turner band. 'Potential' is far from a record half-arsed, hastily stitched together, however. He remains faithful to the tradition of four pieces of Oxford in development of intelligent pop hooks into songs that thrive purely through massive melodies – but never pretentious - and affecting lyrics. Charmingly irritating voice of singer jamie stuart fronts perfectly sound, if we are looking to pigeonhole things, is somewhere between post-punk and post-hardcore. Adhering to the banality of genre media does not do justice diving Dive, however: as with their previous albums, 05's 'of tilting at windmills' and 07's 'Revenge of mechanical dog', 'Potential' never strikes a bum note. Since the opening of Mr 10% and its memorable immediately refrain lyrical do not, do not you, each song impressively highlights on its individual merits. Only 'liar' is incredibly catchy; the intelligent and stripped-back 'monkey like me' is subtly powerful, while the double whammy of ' The point is ' and ' Your call is important ' are both brilliant in its claw urgency. Scuba diving are a jewel amazingly underestimated music rock and this album is excellent as expected.
